Gut Health – What you need to know

With the chaotic lifestyles we lead and the fact that so many of us are time poor, who has the time to address or even think about the state or health of their gut? You may think twice ..

Did you know that the gut holds about 70 - 80% of our immune system? It effects our energy, our hormones, our mental state, how we feel and how we act. Most importantly, it houses a lot of good flora, which helps to absorb nutrients and get energy from our food. Poor gut health, may result in a poor, inefficient digestion, lack of nutrient absorption leading to sickness because the body cannot absorb the nutrients (from your gut) it essentially needs.

What disrupts our gut health?

Toxins and chemicals are a huge factor which impact our gut, it is these environmental factors and poor choices in food (preservatives and processed food), prescribed medication – antibiotics, alcohol, smoking and too much caffeine that disrupt our gut flora and in turn our overall health.

Signs of an unhealthy gut?

There is a myriad of symptoms you may have in combination or just solely;

  • Bloating
  • Tummy pain
  • Constipation / Diarrhea
  • Skin disruptions (dry or irritated skin)
  • Lack of energy
  • Fatigue
  • Weight gain / weight retention
  • Cravings - will often crave sweet things
  • Hormonal issues

What YOU can do to improve your gut health?

There is a lot you can do to restore your gut back to its former glory, all is definitely not lost!  The aim is to get your gut flora back in swing and invite them back to camp inside your Digestive System forever!

Step 1: Start eliminating food from your diet that aggravate the gut and the digestive process. Experiment with your diet and keep track of these foods – avoiding the foods you have identified to be the culprit(s).

Step 2: Increase your good bacteria. Eat more fermented foods (such as sauerkraut, kefir yogurt or kombucha) or add a probiotic supplement to your diet.

Step 3:  I recommend Heal your Gut Powder as part of your daily gut flora rehabilitation routine. This product has a very simple and natural approach to gut health as many gut issues can be traced back to an unclean and inefficient digestive tract.

How can Heal Your Gut Powder help?

I personally have been following Lee Holmes since her beginning stages over 4 years ago and the experimentation and discovery of her own gut health problems and cures. When she created this organic gut health product I knew I had to get it into The Well Store to share the amazing properties and benefits it has to give. This product is literally amazing in that it is made from a 100% natural naturopathic grade, organic diatomaceous earth (also known as fossil shell powder) and it’s also anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal and anti-parasitic!

This powder can help to clean out the accumulated build-up of waste, toxins, metals and mucous in the digestive tract! Why is this so important? Like a car needs fuel, so does your body need nutrients and this product removes the impurities like an internal toothbrush that sweeps away the build-up of plaque in your gut. By removing these impurities, it helps us to be better able to absorb nutrients, hence more energy and you will also notice that you will have better digestion and increased nutrient absorption.

This Heal Your Gut powder will also help to eradicate parasites from our body naturally - did you know that 70-80% of us carry parasites in our gut? The Heal your Gut Powder is rich in minerals, particularly silica which gives us more energy, makes our hair shine, our eyes brighter and can aid with weight loss. *

The Heal Your Gut Powder can be used in a variety of ways, you can shake it up a little and add it to smoothies, yoghurt and even cereal or you can simply add a tablespoon twice a day to water or fresh juice.

 Enjoy xx
