If Winter’s left your face feeling dry, dull, and drab, then this is the guide for you! Hit the refresh button with this Spring skincare edit that’s all about healthy, glowing skin. We’ve scoured our shelves and hand-picked some of our favourite products to give your skin dewy, youthful radiance.

From exfoliants and serums to Vitamin C shots, glycolic, and collagen, you’ll be fresh-faced in no time! Let’s glow, people!

The secret to glowing skin is ‘out with the old and in with the new’. Sloughing off all those dead, dry skin cells to reveal fresh new skin underneath, whilst stimulating lovely, plumping collagen production, refining texture, and smoothing out fine lines.

When you’re resurfacing and refreshing your skin in this way, depending on the ingredients of the products you use, your skin may be more sensitive to the sun - which means SPF is non-negotiable (as it always should be!). Make sure you read the label, and if it says to apply an SPF, don’t skip it!

Let’s look at some of the most common skincare ingredients, to understand why they’re your glowing skin getters:

  • Glycolic Acid: Glycolic Acid is a type of Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA). AHAs might sound scary (acid on your skin?!) but they are often naturally derived. Which is why you may see ingredients on a label like pineapple or pumpkin enzymes. AHAs work by increasing cell turnover rate, so you see a fresher face faster. They also stimulate collagen and boost tone and texture.
  • Lactic Acid: Lactic Acid is another type of AHA. Much like Glycolic, it helps to give you brighter skin by speeding up cell turnover. It can be a skin saviour if you have dark patches, uneven tone, or texture, and is a great option if your skin is sensitive and Glycolic Acid is too strong.
  • Vitamin C: Vitamin C is an antioxidant that helps your skin to fight against free radicals – great for anti ageing! – and it helps with pigmentation, too.
  • Vitamin A: You might know Vitamin A as its more common skincare name: Retinol is one of the most powerful ingredients for skin plumping and resurfacing. It’s great for anti-ageing, pigmentation, large pores – you name it. But it can be strong and cause irritation. Some skincare products use Bakuchiol instead, which is a natural, plant-based alternative, perfect for sensitive skin.

Here are some of our favourites for that fresh-faced glow! If you try any of these, as with all skincare products, make sure you read the instructions carefully! Especially if you have existing skin conditions, it’s worth getting the green light from a skin specialist first.
