4 EASY WELLNESS TIPS FOR YOU IN 2022
Is it just me or are you over the whole ‘new year resolutions’ thing, too? We’re bombarded in January by the same messages every year: “Lose weight! Get fit! You need to change!” It’s so depressing when you think about it: Most resolutions end in failure, and who wants to start a fresh new year feeling bad about themselves, especially after all we’ve been through the past couple of years?
So, with positivity and hope firmly front of mind for 2022, for our first blog of the year I’m sharing with you a few of my own wellness tips and tricks, together with some of the wellness products I love. As the founder of The Well Store, I’m a big believer in wellness from within and the benefits of a ‘whole body’ approach - gut health, mental health, the whole shebang!
I really hope you give some of these a try – they’re very easy to do and simple to stick to, I promise! - and just see how you feel. I’d love to know how you get on – please drop me a line: firstname.lastname@example.org
Sleep better with magnesium
Can’t remember the last time you had a good night’s sleep? Try magnesium! Magnesium is a mineral that’s essential to all sorts of bodily functions, including the central nervous system – which is why many people (including me!) love it as a sleep aid. A good soak in magnesium bath flakes does the trick for me, followed by a liberal application of magnesium spray. Give Elektra Magnesium Mineral Salt Flakes ($13.95) a try – it’s a must-have relaxation buy and they’re food-grade too, just use a pinch if you want to remineralise distilled drinking water. Then apply Bare & Co’s organic Soothe & Sleep magnesium spray ($13.95), that combines 100% magnesium with lavender and camomile.
I also use The Goodnight Co’s Deep Sleep drops ($24.95) from time to time. It’s a potent herbal formula and homeopathic remedy that’s specifically designed to help you sleep. Just pop a few drops under your tongue before you head to bed!
Feel better with gut supplements
When was the last time you thought about your gut health – if ever? Looking after your gut is one of my biggest wellness tips for 2022 – because what happens in your gut affects so many things in your body (you can read more about that here!) One of my favourite choices for gut goodness is Supercharged Food’s Golden Gut blend ($19.95). It’s chock full of minerals and vitamins for health and wellness from the inside, and it tastes good, too!
I also love their Fulvic Humic Concentrate ($27.50). Fulvic and Humic are natural plant substances that contain over 70 minerals and trace elements, for healthy metabolism, nutrient absorption, and an overall happier gut!
Uplift your mood with aromatherapy
For me, there’s no nicer way to relax and de-stress than aromatherapy. Breathing in the wonderful scent is more like a pampering treat than an actual treatment – it’s a wellness tip that’s perfect for some me-time! Aromatherapy has various benefits, depending on the blend you choose. Just pick the oil that’s matched to your concern, sprinkle in a diffuser - you can browse our range here - and your home will feel like a spa (and you’ll feel relaxed!) in no time.
Some of my favourite blends are Raww’s Geranium pure essential oil ($24.99) which gives a real lift if you’re in a low mood, and The Goodnight Co’s Calm blend of seven pure essential oils ($29.95) specifically selected to soothe a stressed mind – which we all need right now!
Black Chicken’s Respire Nasalette inhaler ($11.95) is also my on-the-go go-to for the summer sniffles, formulated to clear airways and congestion for clarity and calmness.
Boost yourself with vitamins and minerals
There are so many vitamins and minerals on the shelves these days, it’s hard to know what to take if you want a general health boost. These are two of my store-cupboard staples: Maca powder and a greens blend.
Maca root has been used for thousands of years in Peru as a general health, energy, and vitality booster. It’s full of goodies for your wellbeing – vitamins, minerals, amino acids, protein, and essential fatty acids. In powder form it’s so easy to use – just sprinkle a quarter to 1-teaspoon into smoothies, juices, over cereal, or into anything you’re baking. Try Power Super Foods Maca Powder ($19.95), which is 100% pure organic maca root powder.
And to make sure I get enough greens, I simply add a teaspoon of Melrose Organic Essential Greens ($30.95) to my drinks. It’s a nutrient-rich powerhouse powder of 4 key greens – Spirulina, Chlorella, Barley Grass, and Wheatgrass. Cheers to good health!
