Love this

I'd never coloured my hair before and was a bit nervous about it. My hair is a mid brown and I didn't want it to go a dark wine-red, so I bought this colour as it was the lightest. A test strand (1hr) had no noticeable effect so I ended up doing two full-head applications of 3 hours each. My baby hairs around my face were super ginger after this but after a week everything settled down to a natural auburn that looks gorgeous in the sunlight! Now that I know I won't go too far accidentally, I will use their richer red mix (just henna and aloe, no cassia) in future, but I am still really happy with the results I have now.

The product was easy to mix and actually quite quick to apply as per Desert Shadow's online tutorial. The smell isn't unpleasant but does linger for a couple of days (put a bit of perfume on your hair if it bothers you). It didn't stain my skin or the sink/ shower and washed out easily with conditioner.

I’ll be ordering again

Many friends have commented that my hair colour is beautiful. Got to say, I can’t help feeling a little smug that it looks so good and I’m not putting my health at risk by using nasty chemicals.

Love desert shadow

This is the third time I'm using desert shadow dyes, I love them and think that they do a great job. The copper shadow is really pretty in my hair, but I think the caramel shadow did a better job of covering greys and lasted a bit longer with a similar (a little darker) colour effect.
